This is the view from the study window… I know it’s a bit industrial and it doesn’t look much like the pretty Italy on other blogs, but have you seen the size of that bloody mountain?
Yael that mountain is one of my most favorite things. We drive by every summer on our way up and down from Puglia and it always takes my breath away. Last summer we stopped the night in a little town called….I think…Loreto, and had a view of that from our hotel balcony. Fantastic!
Isn’t it amazing Laurie? we only get to see it when the sky’s clear, you know I lived here for two weeks before I saw it for the first time, imagine my surprise! We’ve got a great view of the sleeping beauty out of the lounge window, I’ll try and get a shot when I can.
the mountain looks lovely–is it gran sasso? i live north in Le Marche (macerata) and on clear days we can see Gran Sasso from our little hill town–but it looks VERY far away for us!-Jackie
Yes, it is the Gran Sasso! The photo really doesn’t do it justice, it’s huge and very majestic in real life. I think it’s about half an hour away by car, I must persuade Stef to take me there someday.
my husband really likes gran sasso–i think we might go there in the spring. you’ve not been yet? we love abruzzo–driving through the interior is just beautiful.hope there’s not fog in pescara today! here it’s a little overboard.-Jackie
